Queens
Queens is a card game I created that mixes feminist topics, icons, and ideas with humor and snark. The rules of the game are simple: you shuffle the deck, you draw a card when it’s your turn, you read the action on the card out loud and then follow the instructions. You play until the deck runs out. The purpose of the game is to educate and bring levity to this movement.
The Cards
Half of the cards within the deck are topic cards and half of them are Queen cards. Topic cards briefly explain a feminist topic and the Queen cards feature a modern feminist I admire.
Illustrations
I created 20 portraits of feminists for this card game. I also created icon illustrations for the bottom of each card that help the user better understand that feminist's background.
